MemoryPilot is a macOS performance and storage utility. This policy describes how the Mac App Store edition handles information.

Information stored on your Mac

MemoryPilot stores app preferences, diagnostic history, trust settings, chat history, and security-scoped bookmarks locally on your Mac. An optional OpenAI API key is stored in the macOS Keychain. MemoryPilot does not operate an account system or require you to sign in.

Files and folders

The Mac App Store edition can inspect files only in folders you explicitly select using the standard macOS folder picker. File metadata and file contents are processed locally. MemoryPilot does not upload selected files or their contents to the developer.

Optional AI features

AI analysis and chat are optional. If you enable them and initiate a request, MemoryPilot sends your prompt and relevant diagnostic context to OpenAI using the API key you provide. API keys are never included in diagnostic reports or AI prompts. Process details are redacted by default, and MemoryPilot presents a disclosure before diagnostic information is sent.

OpenAI processes information under its own terms and privacy policies. Do not send confidential information through AI chat. You can disable AI use at any time and remove the API key from MemoryPilot settings.

Data collection by the developer

MemoryPilot does not send analytics, advertising identifiers, selected files, or diagnostic history to the developer. The current release does not include third-party advertising or developer-operated analytics.

Retention and deletion

Local MemoryPilot data remains on your Mac until you remove it through the app, reset its preferences, or uninstall the app and delete its application data. You can remove the saved OpenAI API key from MemoryPilot settings.

Security

The Mac App Store edition uses App Sandbox, macOS security-scoped file access, and Keychain storage. No system can guarantee absolute security, but MemoryPilot limits access to the capabilities needed for its visible features.
